fire caused by short circuit
There is a Saras parlor in the name of Shrilal son of Bhairulal near the passenger waiting room at Subhash Circle. Like every day, when the Saras parlor operator reached to open the booth at around 5.30 in the morning, he found the booth on fire. There was also current in the booth at that time. The booth operator reached the fire station and informed about the fire in the booth. On this, driver Rajaram, fireman Shivraj Bagri, and Prashant Nagar reached the spot with the fire station’s vehicle. But they did not know that there was a gas cylinder inside the booth. While they were extinguishing the fire, the gas cylinder exploded. Due to this, the fire suddenly reached them, due to which fireman Shivraj Bagri (43) son of Chaturbhuj Bagri resident of Jhalawar and Prashant Nagar (22) son of Durgalal resident of Sarola got badly burnt. The fridge and other items kept in the booth were burnt to ashes.
We were eight to ten feet away, otherwise a big accident would have happened
Fireman Shivraj Bagri said that we reached Subhash Circle in the morning to extinguish the fire after getting information about it. At that time, there was current in the booth, I cut the electrical cable with a cutter and the fire intensified. The main door did not open, the side door opened, due to which the monitor was not going inside. We applied the hose. Due to the flames being strong, we were standing eight to ten feet away. There were two cylinders inside the booth, one was taken out.
The second one exploded inside and suddenly a strong fire came out of it. Due to the cylinder explosion, one side of the body got injured and hands and legs got burnt. There was a strong push and something like gunpowder came out of it, due to which both Prashant Nagar and I fell down. Shivraj told that usually we go nearby and extinguish the fire, but since there was a cylinder in the Saras booth, we were standing 8 to 10 feet away and that is why we were saved, otherwise a big accident could have occurred.
