Karauli News Desk: A culvert was being constructed at Manchadi turn of Boring intersection of Gudhachandraji town by the sensor of PWD department without following the departmental norms. On the complaint of the people, Executive Engineer of PWD KK Meena and Gangapur City Superintending Engineer Jaylal Meena reached the spot and in view of the poor construction of the culvert, instructed the contractor to dismantle it and get the quality work done again. Superintending Engineer of the Public Works Department on the complaint of the contractor not doing the work as per the criteria in the culvert construction work being done at the cost of lakhs of rupees at Boring intersection as part of the mega highway road construction work costing Rs 140 crore from Patoli to Bamanwas. Jayalal Meena inspected the work and gave instructions to remove the old work and rebuild the culvert. Also said that any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in culvert construction.
The contractor was directed to construct a quality culvert as per the criteria. After this, the culvert construction work was again dug by the sensor with the help of JCB. Four days ago, the villagers had complained to the Additional Chief Engineer about using poor quality material and bypassing measurement standards during the culvert construction work. After this, the department’s assistant engineer Yogesh Kumar Meena and junior engineer Rohitashv Choudhary reached the spot and inspected the work and found poor quality construction material in the culvert construction. In the four walls of the culvert construction, stones were placed on both sides and pebbles and soil were found in the middle. Also, very less quantity of cement was found, after which they stopped the culvert construction work. During the work, crusher dust was found instead of Banas gravel. After this the Assistant Engineer gave instructions to do the work again. After this, the culvert construction work was stopped for three days. On this, after the inspection by Executive Engineer KK Meena, Gangapur City Superintending Engineer Jai Lal Meena reached the spot and after finding substandard material for the construction of the culvert, he instructed the contractor to remove it and get the work done as per the quality standards.
