Jaipur : Continuous action is being taken by the Food Department in Rajasthan. Recently, action was taken against shops violating food rules. Now a consumer care campaign is being run in the state. Under this, action has been taken against many firms. Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Minister Sumit Godara said that in the second day of the Consumer Care Campaign being run by the Consumer Affairs Department in view of the festival of Diwali, action was taken against 89 firms under the Legal Metrology Act. In which, under the Packaged Goods Rules, verification certificate and verified weighing scale were not found in 13 firms and in 56 firms. The teams took action against the firms by issuing spot notices and imposed a fine of Rs 1.84 lakh. During this time, under the supervision of Kaushal Kishore Gupta in Jaipur, 29 forks were seized while taking action at National Store Anaj Mandi, Malpura Gate, Sanganer.
The campaign will run regularly till October 30
Principal Government Secretary Subir Kumar said that the consumer care campaign will be run regularly till October 30. The objective of this campaign is to motivate the traders to make correct measurements in the larger interest of the consumers as well as to make the consumers aware about their basic rights and to protect the consumer interests. It is the legal right of the consumer to ensure the purity, quality, standard, quantity and correct measurement and weight of any kind of services and goods received by paying any amount. On violation of these rights, the consumer can complain to the Consumer Affairs Department.
