Food department team raided here in Rajasthan, fake ghee was confiscated and shop was sealed

Sriganganagar : The Food Department is seen in active mode to take action against adulterated food in Rajasthan. In this sequence, strict action against adulterated ghee is being taken by the Health Department in Sriganganagar. Late Sunday evening, the department achieved a major success by confiscating a van full of fake ghee. Under this action, the shop from where the supply of adulterated ghee is suspected has also been seized. This incident is the third major action taken by the Health Department in a week, which makes the seriousness of the campaign against fake and adulterated food items clear.

CMHO Dr. Ajay Singla informed that the department had received information from secret sources that fake ghee was being supplied near Riddhi Siddhi First Colony. Based on this information, the department took immediate action and sent its team to the spot. As per the strategy, the team caught a van, which was full of fake ghee. However, the driver of the van fled from the spot, and despite questioning the people nearby, no concrete information could be obtained about the van. The health department has handed over the van to Sadar police station.

A huge amount of ghee was found in the van

CMHO said that a large quantity of ghee was packed in several cartons inside the van. In the preliminary investigation, this ghee is suspected to be fake. The department’s team will take samples of this ghee and send them to the lab for testing.

The shop was also seized

Dr. Singla further said that the van was leaving from a shop located in Rico area. When the health department team reached there, the shop was found closed. Based on the information received from sources, fake ghee was being supplied from this shop. The shopkeeper was called on the spot, but he refused to come. In such a situation, the health department has seized the shop. Now the shop will be searched in the presence of the shopkeeper, so that other possible adulterated goods can be detected.

Third major action in a week

This campaign being run by the Health Department against fake ghee is continuously gaining momentum. This is the third major action in the last one week, in which strict steps have been taken against adulterated ghee. Earlier also, the department had caught adulterated ghee twice from the Reico area. Dr. Ajay Singla said that the department’s campaign against adulterated food items will continue and strict action will be taken in such cases. So that people’s health is not compromised.
