Jaipur : On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Food Safety Department team in Rajasthan is constantly raiding hotels, malls and big shops and checking the food safety rules. In this episode, cases of serious irregularities in food safety have also come to light from many hotels and malls. Recently, a large consignment of fake Saras Ghee was caught in a famous mall in Jaipur. After this, many irregularities were detected in a famous hotel in Jaipur. Now on Wednesday, the Food Safety team has detected serious negligence in another luxury hotel in Jaipur.
On the instructions of CM, a raid was conducted on the hotel situated on Tonk Road
In fact, under the ‘War on Pure Food Adulteration’ campaign being run on the orders of the Chief Minister, under the direction of Food Commissioner Iqbal Khan and under the leadership of Additional Food Commissioner Pankaj Ojha, on the basis of a complaint received by the team of Food Safety Officers of Chief Medical and Health Officer Jaipur II, a raid was conducted on a famous hotel located in Durgapura on Jaipur Tonk Road.
Many irregularities found in Hotel Bellacasa
Many irregularities were found during the inspection of M/s Hotel Belacasa located in Durgapura on Tonk Road. During the raid, a huge amount of dirt was found in the hotel. Hygiene and sanitation were not found satisfactory. Neither the medical certificate of the working food handlers was found, which is a necessary condition for a food license, nor the water test report was found.
Veg and non-veg food on the same platform
On inspection of the kitchen, veg and non-veg food was being prepared on the same platform and was kept very close to each other. A packet of expired semolina was also found on the spot, which was destroyed immediately. No tagging is being done on any food item being prepared in the kitchen. The packet of bread found on the spot also did not have tagging. There was no manufacturing and expiry date on the packet of bread in the kitchen.
Paneer was also spoiled, cashews were found rotten
The quality of Paneer was also not found to be good. The cashews used were found to be rotten, samples of which were taken. The pan in which it was being fried appeared to have never been cleaned. A thick layer of dirt and grime was found. The bakery items on display, including cakes, pastries etc. did not have a Best Before tag.
Rotten onions were also being used
The team also found that rotten onions were also being used in the hotel. Under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, samples of paneer vegetable gravy, used cooking oil and cashews were taken from the spot for testing. Action will be taken as per rules after receiving the test report. Due to the deficiencies found on the spot, a notice is being issued to the food business operator under Section 32.
If the notice is not followed the license will be cancelled
If this is not followed, action will be taken to cancel the food license. Food Safety Officer Deepak Kumar Sindhi, Awadhesh Gupta and Nandkishore Kumawat of Chief Medical and Health Officer Jaipur II were involved in today’s action. This action created panic among the hotel operators. At the same time, those who go to eat in such luxury hotels are also feeling cheated.
