Pali : Pali Yellowhammer bird (Eberiza citrinella) is a bird of the bunting family native to Eurasia. These days she has come on stay in Araval region. Environmentalist Kailash Panwar told that birds come here in winter. The male yellowhammer has a bright yellow head, brown stripes on the back, a chestnut colored tail and yellow underparts. Whereas the female is less brightly colored. It has more stripes on its crown, chest and sides. The feathers of male and female birds are pale versions of the same pattern. Yellowhammer shrubs prefer open areas with dry trees. In winter it sings in small flocks to the tune of “A little bread and no cheese”. The song is very similar to that of its closest relative, the pine bunting. Buntings are a group of passerine birds that make up the genus Eberiza. which is the only genus in the family Aberyzidae. Their breeding season starts from the month of April, which lasts till the month of June.
