Barmer : The presiding officer of the special POCSO court Jodhpur Metropolitan, formed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, has approved the final report (FR) presented by the police after the allegations in the FIR lodged against former Barmer MLA Mewaram Jain and seven others regarding the alleged gangrape were found to be incorrect in the investigation.
the investigation was deemed correct
The special court has written in its seven-page order that the complainant, another woman and the complainant’s daughter have completely denied the facts mentioned in the First Information Report in their statements given before the magistrate. When the facts were not confirmed, the court said that prima facie evidence does not reveal that any crime has been committed in the case. The investigation of the investigating officer seems to be appropriate, in which there is no basis for interference.
The case was registered in Rajiv Gandhi police station
It is worth noting that last year a case was registered against former MLA Jain and other persons in Rajiv Gandhi police station under charges of gang rape and POCSO. Police officers were also made accused in the case. The alleged video of the high profile case also went viral on social media. The case also echoed in the last assembly elections.
