‘Fraud in the house of law’ High Court canteen accused of playing with the lives of thousands of people

Jaipur : Additional Food Safety Commissioner Pankaj Ojha led a raid on the canteens and shops being run in the Rajasthan High Court premises on Monday. The team found rotten potatoes and onions, expired spices, rusted spice boxes, as well as worms in the gram flour and a lot of dirt around the food preparation area in the government canteens and shops being run in the premises.

Additional Food Safety Commissioner Pankaj Ojha said that all these canteens were being operated without food license. During the action, people present nearby were surprised that they were consuming such things for so many days. During the action, shop number 15, 12 and 9, Saras Dairy booth number 181, shop number 21, 19, 17 and 8 were inspected, where food items were being sold. Dangerous black fungus was found in the fridges of all and expired packets of spices were found. Apart from this, rusted boxes were also found in which spices and other items were kept.

The state of filth and negligence was such that even namkeen from the Corona period was recovered from a shop. Mainly a huge amount of filth was found in the kitchen of M/s Girdhar Gopal Enterprises E Block. The government employee canteen was also found without a food license, here too rusted barrels and extremely dirty spice boxes were found. The condition of hygiene and sanitation was found to be very pathetic at almost all places.

Additional Food Safety Commissioner Pankaj Ojha has said that at present these operators have been banned from conducting business activities in the High Court premises until they obtain a valid license and the food items taken from here have been sent for testing. After the investigation report comes, action will be taken against them as per rules.
