Free artificial limbs provided to disabled people by setting up a camp in Poonch

Poonch, November 18 (IANS). A special camp was organized in Poonch district with the help of Pritam Foundation, Poonch Brigade of the Indian Army and the district administration. In this, free artificial limbs were fitted to people who lost their body parts in terrorist incidents, Pakistani firing, land mines and natural disasters.

Through the camp, an attempt was made to make the lives of people who had lost their limbs in terrorist incidents and natural disasters normal by fitting them with artificial limbs. This camp is being organized in the area for the last four days by Premat Foundation and Poonch Brigade of the Indian Army in collaboration with ‘Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti’ of Jaipur Rajasthan. Monday was its last day.

In this camp, about 200 people who lost their limbs in terrorist incidents, Pakistani firing, landmine explosions on the Line of Control and natural disasters, mainly in Poonch and Rajori districts, were fitted with free artificial limbs. The special thing is that all the eight members of ‘Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti’, which provides artificial limbs in this camp, are disabled.

A member from Jaipur, Kota branch of ‘Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti’ told that our team of seven members has come. All the members of our team are disabled. Only a disabled person can understand the pain of the disabled and can serve them well. Everyone has been given artificial limbs right here.

He told that the cost of artificial limb is less in Jaipur, but it increases due to transportation to the camp. These people are getting free services through Pritam Foundation.

While talking to IANS, an officer participating on behalf of the district administration praised this initiative of ‘Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti’. He said that these people are doing very good work for humanity and the backward people of the society.
