From now on, spoiled food and illegal vendors will be banned at railway stations, know the new order

Kota : Kota Railway Division is constantly innovating for the convenience of passengers. Efforts are being made to provide a positive environment to the passengers along with security. Earlier, complaints were being received and resolved 24 hours a day by setting up a control room. Innovations like ticket facility through mobile app and provision of medical facilities in the train were done, which have brought meaningful results.

Vendors’ details will be on the T-shirt

This time Kota division has issued a dress code to curb illegal vendors. Senior divisional commercial manager and public relations officer Rohit Malviya said that the railways have taken positive steps to curb illegal vendors on trains and stations. Although surprise inspections are conducted at stations at regular intervals by commercial officers and catering inspectors, even after that illegal vendors were not giving up their habits.

Railways has prescribed this dress code

In such a situation, to take prompt action on complaints of poor quality of food items and to curb illegal vendors, it has been made compulsory for vendors to wear a dress of a prescribed colour on each platform. He said that it will be compulsory to wear a black colour T-shirt on platform number one, orange colour dress T-shirt on platform number 2 or 3 and blue colour T-shirt on platform number 4, where the dress code for all has been fixed as black colour pants. So that passengers can easily identify legal and illegal vendors. The name of the license holder, unit ID and PF number are printed on the back and on the pocket of the T-shirt on this prescribed dress.

Vendor ID as per shift

Special ID cards have been issued for vendors travelling in trains and selling food items on platforms. All vendors will have colour coded ID cards around their necks as per their shift. Red colour identity cards have been provided for morning shift, green for evening shift and blue for night shift. At present, a total of 66 licensed food stalls are being operated at various major stations in the division. This step taken by the railway administration is getting a positive response from passengers. Along with this, railway staff like Railway Protection Force personnel are also finding it easier to identify illegal vendors.

Local food items will be affected by disease

While this innovation will curb illegal activities, on the other hand, railway passengers will get quality food items. Due to this, no vendor will be able to sell wrong items and neither will any illegal person be able to sell items in the train. Due to this innovation, passengers will get quality food items, which will reduce the chances of them falling ill. Right now, illegal vendors were playing with health by selling any kind of local food.
