From now on, the dress code for vendors at railway stations will be according to the platform

Jaipur : Indian Railways is constantly trying to improve the rules. However, there is doubt about how much it proves to be true on the ground. There are many complaints about vendors in the railways. At the same time, the game of vendors is also quite prevalent on trains and railway platforms. Where unregistered vendors are also seen working. In such a situation, questions arise about the quality and safety of food. To curb these illegal vendors, Indian Railways has taken a new initiative. Recently, it was implemented on 99 platforms in Jabalpur zone. In which the uniform of vendors will be of the same color as the number of platforms. It was implemented as a pilot project. Now it has been implemented in Kota division as well.

Passengers will be able to easily identify legitimate vendors

Positive steps have been taken to curb illegal vendors at railway stations of Kota division. Commercial officers and food inspectors conduct surprise inspections at stations at regular intervals. To take prompt action on complaints of poor quality of food items and to curb illegal vendors, it has been made compulsory for vendors to wear a dress of a prescribed colour on each platform. Senior divisional commercial manager Rohit Malviya said that the dress code has been set to black colour T-shirt on platform number 1, orange colour dress T-shirt on platform number 2/3 and blue colour T-shirt on platform number 4 and black colour pants for all. With this arrangement, passengers can easily identify legal and illegal vendors. The name, unit ID and PF number of the license holder have been printed on the back and on the pocket of the T-shirt on this prescribed dress.

Vendors of different shifts will have identity cards of different colors

Apart from this, all the vendors will have a colour coded identity card around their neck as per the prescribed shift. Red colour identity card has been provided for morning shift, green for evening shift and blue for night shift. At present, a total of 66 licensed food stalls are being operated at various major stations in the division. This step taken by the railway administration is being appreciated by the passengers. Along with this, railway staff like Railway Protection Force personnel will also be able to identify illegal vendors easily.
