Gadkari’s shocking statement on Hanuman Beniwal’s question on expressway, ‘If he creates any trouble, I will put him under the bulldozer’

Nagar : Nagaur Lok Sabha MP and RLP convenor Hanuman Beniwal asked a question in the Lok Sabha last Thursday on the technical flaws in the Delhi-Mumbai expressway. Besides, the issue of giving less compensation for the irrigated land acquired for this expressway passing through various districts of Rajasthan was also raised. On his question, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari replied that if the contractor makes any mistake, I will put him under the bulldozer. Actually, Beniwal had asked a supplementary question on the written answer of Minister Gadkari. He said that the Prime Minister inaugurated the first phase of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on February 12, 2023, describing it as an excellent example of the country’s infrastructure. This is the largest expressway in the country, for the construction of which a budget of Rs 1 lakh crore was kept. The truth about the poor construction of that expressway was revealed within a few months.

150 deaths so far on expressway, 50 in Dausa alone – Beniwal

He said that so far more than 150 deaths have occurred due to accidents on this expressway, out of which 50 deaths occurred in Dausa district alone. Recently, concern was also expressed over the accident in the tunnel under construction on this expressway in Kota district. The MP said that some deficiencies in quality were noticed and the minister called for strict action against the contractors and supervision consultants based on the final investigation report. In such a situation, in how many days will the final investigation report come and what action will be taken against those guilty persons who are responsible for serious negligence in the Rs 1 lakh crore project?

Beniwal’s question – When will the technical flaw be rectified?

The RLP supremo said, “It is not possible to improve the situation by merely serving a show cause notice to the NHAI officials and giving up the chase. In the construction of the Dausa-Sohna section of this expressway, earth compaction was very important before the use of asphalt and other materials, which was not done properly. According to the technical expert, proper crushing of 6 inches of soil was not done. In such a situation, the road is wide due to this technical flaw. Will it be rectified?” The RLP supremo said, “It is not possible to improve the situation by merely giving show cause notice to NHAI officials and giving up the chase.
