Gang from Ajmer, Uttarakhand stole police pistol and cartridges from Pushkar fair.

Ajmer : During crowd control at Kailash Kher’s Musical Night during Ajmer Pushkar Fair, the missing government pistol of ASP PSO was found by District Special Team and Pushkar Police Station. Amidst the uncontrollable crowd, the gang from Haridwar, Uttarakhand had stolen the pistol and left. After searching 3 and a half thousand CCTV cameras and one thousand hotels and Dharamshala, the police team searched for the gang in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana including Rajasthan. Finally, after ten days, success was achieved in arresting the gang from Uttarakhand. Police recovered the pistol and 10 live cartridges from the accused. The police is engaged in further investigation of the gang.

Accused caught from Shamli: Superintendent of Police Vandita Rana said that on November 14, Sunny Sharma alias Ramlal Jogi (30), resident of Haridwar Shyampura, Uttarakhand, and his wife Gyanwati (38), were arrested in the case of theft of official pistol and cartridges of PSO Devanda Jat of ASP Vijaysingh Sankhla at Pushkar Fair Ground. Rishi Choudhary alias Rahul (22), resident of Padrata Dhanpura Hall Patri Phatak. Ranjeet alias Sonu (25), resident of Kunhadi Balita, Kota and Priya (19), daughter of Padam Gurjar, resident of Haridwar Barewala Road, were caught from Shamli in Uttar Pradesh.

Pistol-cartridge recovered: The gang confessed to stealing the pistol in Pushkar. Police have recovered the pistol and cartridges. There are criminal records against the gang in Uttarakhand, UP, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana.

SP said that DIG Ajmer Range Omprakash took the incident of theft of PSO’s official pistol seriously and ordered a search. After checking 3.5 thousand CCTVs and records of more than 1 thousand hotels and restaurants, the team of DST and Pushkar police station identified 5 suspects and checked the footage of vehicles on Pushkar, Ajmer, Beawar, Kishangarh route. When a suspicious car was seen on CCTV at Beawar Toll, route tracking was done through CCTV and more than 3500 CCTV cameras were searched till Gegal, Kishangarh, Jaipur, Gurgaon, Delhi, Agra, Mathura, Chhatarpur, Jhansi of Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior and Shamli of Uttar Pradesh. During the search of hotel-dhaba in Shamli, 5 suspects seen on the highway confessed to the crime of pistol theft during investigation.

Gang’s criminal record

Investigation revealed that several cases of theft, embezzlement and pickpocketing were registered against Sunny Sharma alias Ramlal, Rishi Chaudhary alias Rahul and Gyanwati wife Sunny Sharma in Uttarakhand and UP. DST in-charge Shankarsingh Rawat, Cyber ​​​​Cell constables Suresh Chaudhary and Santram Meena played an important role in the revelations. On November 15, constable Suresh Devanda, resident of Dudu Phagi Chakwara, reported that on November 14, he was on duty with ASP Vijay Sankhla. He had a government pistol and 10 cartridges loaded in the magazine. At 9.30 pm, an unknown thief stole his government pistol, magazine along with 10 cartridges from the crowd at the entry gate of Pushkar fair grounds. It is noteworthy that SP Vandita Rana had suspended Suresh Devanda in the case and had put him on the line.
