Gang rape case in Rajasthan has gained momentum, demand for punishment to the accused

Hanumangarh : In the case of suspected rape of minor sisters of a village in Sangaria area of ​​Hanumangarh district, villagers and many social organizations staged a sit-in in front of the district hospital in Hanumangarh town and raised slogans against the police administration. Not only this, due to heavy rain during this demonstration, the protesters entered the hospital premises covering their heads with mattresses and tried to forcibly enter the police post. Due to which a situation of tension was created and there was a lot of pushing and shoving when the crowd was stopped by Town CI Ramchandra Kaswan and another police personnel present on the spot.

During this scuffle, a pregnant woman who reached the hospital was also reported to have been injured. Town police station officer Ramchandra Kasawan also suffered a minor injury near the thumb of his hand, after which the police advised the protesting people to protest peacefully. The protesting people allege that the minor sisters who went missing while returning from school remained missing for about 40 days and despite registering a case, no effective action was taken. When people protested at the Superintendent of Police office, the police came into action and both the sisters were recovered. They allege that the accused were not arrested. The protesters questioned the police functioning and said that there is no one to listen to the Dalits. Now they will fight till the end and if needed, they will also protest violently.

‘Further action after the statement’
According to ASP Neelam Chaudhary, the investigating officer in this case, both the minor girls have been recovered and earlier their family members did not cooperate with the police. Due to this, the statements of the girls under section 164 and 161 could not be recorded. Now, in the talks, an agreement has been reached with the family members and the organizations. Now the statements of the girls will be recorded. After that, whatever legal action is required will be implemented.

‘A separate investigation will be conducted’
ASP Headquarters Pyare Lal Meena, who arrived for talks, said that the police was continuously investigating the matter considering its seriousness and both the sisters have been recovered. Now the further process will start after the statements of the victims. However, the police have rounded up three people including the main accused in this case and more arrests will be made under the legal process in view of the statement given by the victim. At the same time, after talking to the people protesting, an agreement has been reached to get their demands investigated. As per the demands of the protesters, a separate investigation will be conducted and if anyone is found guilty in it, action will be taken against him. At the same time, higher officials will be informed about other demands.

Warning of a big movement on 6 September
After talks with the protesters, the protest was called off late in the evening after an agreement was reached and the protesters have said that if the accused police personnel are not investigated and action is not taken, a big protest will be held on September 6. The sister undergoing treatment at the district hospital was discharged late in the evening after treatment. Both the sisters have now returned to their home. Now the police have started investigating the case and are talking about arresting the accused soon. But the big question is that when will such incidents that tarnish the society come to a permanent halt amidst the claims of strengthening the daughters. Will the governments be able to end the difference between their words and actions?
