Jalore : Jalore The activities included under PM Surya Ghar Yojana were shared with the Panchayati Raj institutions. A meeting was organized under the chairmanship of the District Collector to get the eligible consumers registered on the portal and to benefit the domestic consumers. In this, various information was given to the villagers including the Sarpanch by the officials of Discom. In the meeting, Superintending Engineer of Discom P.S. Rathod informed the Sarpanch present about the background and scope of this scheme, objective, cost, subsidy, consideration as an ideal solar village. Detailed information was provided regarding eligibility criteria, implementation, selection of Model Solar Village etc. He said that the village considered as Model Solar Village will be selected in competition mode. In which the village with the highest number of solar energy capacity will be selected as the model solar village for this district and there is a provision of central financial assistance of Rs 1 crore for that selected model solar village.

The Sarpanches present in the meeting were introduced to the vendors registered under the scheme and were given information about the cost incurred by the vendors for installing rooftop solar. In the meeting, the Chief Executive Various personnel including officers of District Council Jalore, all development officers of Panchayat Committees of District Jalore, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayats of villages with population more than 5000, Superintending Engineer and Assistant Engineer of Discom were present.
