GCC will increase salaries of entry level workforce in key sectors of India: Report

New Delhi, November 28 (IANS). Global Capability Center (GCC) is expected to increase the demand for fresh talent in India. A report on Thursday offers a glimpse of the fiscal year ahead for India’s growing workforce. According to the report, salaries are expected to increase for entry level job roles in key sectors in IT products, services and non-tech sectors in FY 2024-25.

TeamLease Digital’s report revealed that with the increasing demand for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning skills in the software development sector, the software development and engineering domain will provide lucrative opportunities.

Entry level positions in this domain are expected to see an average salary of Rs 9.37 lakh per annum in GCC by the end of FY 2024-25. After this it will be Rs 6.23 lakh per year in IT products and services and Rs 6 lakh per year in non-technical sector.

In the cyber security and network administration domain, GCCs are expected to lead with an average salary of Rs 9.57 lakh per annum, which is 40.12 percent higher than that of IT professionals.

IT products and services can offer Rs 6.83 lakh per annum and non-technical sector can offer Rs 5.17 lakh per annum.

The data management and analytics domain, which deals with collecting, storing and analyzing data to aid decision making, is expected to attract Rs 8.73 lakh per annum in GCC in FY 2024-25, and Rs 7.07 lakh in IT products and services. per annum and non-technical sectors are expected to see an average salary of Rs 6.37 lakh per annum.

Neeti Sharma, CEO, TeamLease Digital, said, “India’s entry-level job market is witnessing dynamic changes as shown by our data for FY 2024-25. The last 2-3 years have seen a slowdown in hiring, but the GCC and non-technical sectors have emerged as leaders in welcoming young talent and providing rich opportunities.”

He further said that GCC is expected to be the leader in this sector, offering premium salaries, especially in roles like penetration testing and data science, with average packages reaching Rs 11.8 lakh per annum. This surge can be attributed to the rapid expansion of the GCC in India, employing over 1.66 million people and their need to maintain global standards.

Additionally, the domain of cloud solutions and enterprise application management focuses on scalability and cost-efficiency through cloud platforms and ERP systems.

Ready to pay an entry-level salary of Rs 7.67 lakh per annum in GCC and Rs 6.07 lakh per annum in IT Products and Services.

Non-tech industries are also willing to pay an average salary of Rs 6.53 lakh per annum for cloud solutions roles, which is about 8 percent higher than the IT sector. This is being seen due to the rapid adoption of cloud technology in sectors like BFSI, healthcare and manufacturing.
