Geeta is being recited daily in Jodhpur Tinwari Gurukul and Vidya Bharti schools.

Jodhpur : Jodhpur Shukla Paksha Ekadashi of Margadshirsha (Agahan) month will be celebrated as Mokshada Ekadashi and Geeta Jayanti on Wednesday. In Dwapar Yuga, Lord Shri Krishna had preached Geeta to Arjun on Mokshada Ekadashi which makes human life meaningful, hence this date is also known as Geeta Jayanti. Ekadashi will start at 3:42 pm and will continue till 1:09 am on 12th December. On Geeta Jayanti, there will be Varian, Ravi and Bhadravas Yoga and in these auspicious Yogas, worshiping Lord Vishnu and reciting Geeta gives inexhaustible fruits. At the same time, in order to tell the importance of Geeta to the children and make them cultured, Geeta recitation is also being conducted daily in the Gurukul located at Tinwari and the affiliated schools of Vidya Bharti.

Director of Gurukul, Dr. Nirmal Gehlot said that for the last several years, Geeta recitation is being regularly studied in the Gurukul. Dr. Ramprasad Maharaj, Mahant of Sursagar Ramdwara is also enhancing the knowledge of the students by teaching them the values of Geeta and examination based on Geeta. The daily routine of Gurukul students starts with Geeta recitation at 6 in the morning. Through regular reading of Geeta, children are getting a chance to come face to face with the esoteric and important aspects of Hindu religion. At present all the children of the Gurukul have memorized the 12th and 15th chapters of Geeta.

Another objective is to make these children study the entire Geeta by heart so that in future these children can propagate the Geeta. Collective Geeta recitation today at Satsang Bhawan… Manish Bagri of Geeta Bal Sanskar told that there will be a collective Geeta recitation at Satsang Bhawan on Wednesday at 7 pm. More than 400 children will also participate in this. Geeta Sanskar is being given by Geeta Bal Sanskar in 20 cities of the country including Jodhpur. In these, values with moral values are being imparted in Jaipur, Pune, Kolkata and nearby Balotra, Degana. Separate courses of Geeta Sanskar are being conducted online and offline for every age group. Gehlot said that along with Saint Ramprasad, Sanatan Dharma is being called upon to keep the Sanatan culture alive and to propagate the religion, it is necessary to implement Geeta regularly in all the schools of Rajasthan including the city. This will provide the students with a strong educational base as well as connect them with values and spirituality. Rajendra Choudhary of Gurukul said that more than 100 children from the city and surrounding villages are showing interest in memorizing the Geeta these days. Along with propagating Geeta, ISKCON certified courses are also provided free of cost. For this, centers have been set up in the temple as well as in IIT and Ratanada. Information including chapters of Gita is made available by temple president Sunderlal Prabhu. A certificate is also given for this 6 month course. Bhakti Shastri course can also be done. Last year, 25 thousand Geeta were distributed for the purpose of publicity in the city including Phalodi, Balotra, Kalyanpur, Bar, Jaisalmer and Pokaran.
