Gehlot’s ‘circus’ statement created political turmoil in Rajasthan, former CM was forced to do this after the matter got heated

Jaipur : Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot got trapped in Jodhpur last Sunday by giving a ‘circus’ statement. His statement started political turmoil in the state. From CM Bhajanlal Sharma, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to BJP leader Rajendra Rathod hit back at Gehlot’s statement and reminded him of the incidents that happened during the Congress government. In such a situation, Gehlot had to clarify his ‘circus’ statement.

What did Ashok Gehlot say in clarification?

While returning to Jaipur after the end of his two-day Jodhpur tour on Tuesday, he said while talking to the media, ‘I am not saying circus to humiliate them. People from his party are speaking these words. The work is going on there like a circus. Some minister is resigning. A minister is going to the cabinet meeting after resigning. MLAs are threatening and rest you know what is the situation in Rajasthan. They talk in the air again and again. Will bring Yamuna water. Gave a new name to the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project. Nothing is going to happen with these.

Gehlot did circus for 5 years: CM

While talking to the media in Jodhpur on Sunday, Gehlot had said that it is not a government but a circus is going on in the state, where a minister is resigning and someone is trying to convince him. Responding to his statement, CM Bhajanlal Sharma said, ‘Gehlot has been the Chief Minister of the state many times and is also experienced, hence he should introspect before giving any statement. They could have worked on the issues they are raising now. Ashok Gehlot has done circus for the whole 5 years. Sometimes in the hotel, sometimes just like that. That’s why now they only see circus. I want to say that these days he is writing a lot on ‘X’. I want to remind them to go back 10 months. Remember those things of yours.

‘They should first look within themselves’

Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat targeted Gehlot without taking his name. He said, ‘His statements only reflect his frustration. Everyone should look within themselves before making political comments. What were the conditions like during his 5-year tenure? At that time atrocities against women had increased manifold in Rajasthan.

Rajendra Rathod also retaliated

BJP leader Rajendra Rathore hit back at Gehlot’s circus statement and said, ‘The jokers of the government of Ashok Gehlot’s time are being caught in the paper leak case. During the Congress government, the bureaucracy was colored with corruption from top to bottom. Today, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal is working to correct the same.
