Jaipur : The leaders who were considered to be the eyes and ears of Ashok Gehlot in the Congress government are now seen supporting Sachin Pilot. Some of these leaders are openly singing praises of Sachin Pilot, while some are busy laying the political chessboard internally. The activities of these leaders of the Gehlot faction are raising the question whether this is a new sign of Rajasthan politics or are the leaders praising him trying to make their own political equations? Congress was in power in Rajasthan from 2018 to 2023. During this time, in the year 2020, the quarrel between Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot came out in the open. Since then, there has been tension between the two. In 2023, the party had to suffer its loss and Congress was out of power in Rajasthan.
The first story is of player Lal Bairwa
Khiladi Lal Bairwa, who was an MLA from Baseri in Rajasthan, was considered a leader of the Gehlot faction till 2022, but as the assembly elections approached, he became disillusioned with Gehlot. In the 2023 assembly elections, Congress gave ticket to Sanjay Jatav from Baseri seat. Angered by this, Khiladi Lal left the Congress. He went to BJP before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but his luck did not work out there either. In the Lok Sabha elections, Bairwa wanted to contest from Karauli-Dholpur, BJP made Indu Devi Jatav the candidate. However, BJP lost this seat to Bhajanlal Jatav of Congress.
Now Khiladi Lal has also left BJP. While resigning from BJP, he has praised Sachin Pilot a lot. Sachin Pilot has a strong political influence in the area where Khiladi Lal does politics. Pilot’s close aide Bhajanlal Jatav is currently an MP from Karauli-Dholpur. Pilot had camped in Karauli for his campaign.
Lokesh is also trying to enter the pilot circle
Congress leader Lokesh Sharma was Ashok Gehlot’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD) when he was the Chief Minister, but now the situation has changed. Sharma has become quite vocal against Gehlot. Recently, he had targeted Gehlot over phone recording in Rajasthan.
It is being said that Sharma has been trying to get into Pilot’s close circle for the past few months. Lokesh Sharma had also praised Pilot during the Lok Sabha elections. He had said that Gehlot had got the phones tapped so that Sachin could not become the Chief Minister. Lokesh is now trying to enter politics through grassroots. Before the assembly elections, he had claimed the Bikaner seat, but did not get the ticket. Lokesh now wants to contest from a seat in Bharatpur. For this, he finds Pilot’s support to be the most suitable.
Danish Abrar is also in the mood to make mistakes
Danish Abrar, former MLA from Sawai-Madhopur, has been an advisor to Ashok Gehlot. It is said that in 2020, when 20 MLAs rebelled with Pilot, Danish had informed Gehlot about the whole matter. Gehlot then saved his chair by taking the MLAs to a resort. Due to this incident, there was a distance between Pilot and Abrar. Abrar tried many times in the 2023 assembly elections, but Sachin Pilot did not come to campaign for him. Sawai Madhopur seat is dominated by Gujjars, Meenas and Muslims. Here, the one in whose favor the two communities vote easily wins the election. Due to Pilot’s absence, the Gujjar vote here moved towards Kirori Lal Meena. Recently, during a program in Sawai Madhopur, Abrar was seen on the stage with Pilot. Here he talked about forgetting the old mistake and moving forward. Abrar also apologized to the people.
Mamta Bhupesh wants to bridge the distance through Murari
Mamta was a minister in Bhupesh Ashok Gehlot’s government. When there was a ruckus within the Congress in 2020, Mamta took a stand in favor of Ashok Gehlot, but after the 2023 elections, her stance has also changed. Mamta has not yet praised Pilot directly, but is trying to enter Pilot’s close circle through her close aide Murari Lal Meena. Mamta has been seen on stage with Murari many times. Actually, Mamta contests from Sikar seat of Bhupesh Dausa. This area is considered to be the stronghold of Sachin Pilot. In the 2023 elections, Mamta lost this seat by 9 thousand. This seat is also dominated by Gurjars. It is being said that if Pilot had taken the front in favor of Mamta, then the result here would have been different?
