Girl dies due to drowning while bathing in Bundi canal

Bundi : A woman who had gone to take bath on the canal drowned due to loss of balance in the strong current. The body of the woman was recovered about 8 km away from the incident site. A search was started after the woman’s clothes were found on the canal bank. The accident took place on Thursday morning in Tirath village of Keshoraipatan area.

ASI Harishankar told that Mohani Bai (45), wife of Bhairu Lal Meena, resident of Tirath, had gone to take bath on the canal at around 10 am on Thursday. During this time she met with an accident. When the woman did not return home for a long time, the family members reached near the canal in search of her and found her clothes lying on the canal bank. If there was a suspicion of any untoward incident, the police was informed.

Police started a search operation for the woman. Meanwhile, about two hours later, the woman’s body was found floating in a canal near Gudla village, about 8 km from the incident site. Police took the body into custody and kept it in Keshorarpatan mortuary. Where the body was handed over to the family members after postmortem. Police have registered a case on the report of family members and started investigation.
