New Delhi, November 23 (IANS). Appointment letters for government jobs to 47 families living in Tilak Vihar area of ​​Delhi have been issued by Lieutenant Governor of Delhi V.K. Saxena has given. These people were victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence.

Kamaljit Sehrawat, BJP’s Lok Sabha MP from West Delhi seat, told IANS on Friday, “The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi provided appointment letters to government posts to 47 families of Tilak Vihar. These families were victims of the 1984 Sikh riots and live in Tilak Vihar Colony, which is also known as Widow Colony today. It was a very emotional moment, because a task that had been pending for years was completed by the Lieutenant Governor. Along with giving appointment letters to 47 people, documents of 437 other persons are being verified, and they will also be given appointment letters in the next 15-20 days.”

He further said, “Furthermore, the Lieutenant Governor also announced that if the people of the colony want to change the name of this colony, they can suggest a new name, and he will accept that new name. This moment was the biggest justice moment for the families of 1984 riot victims, when they got their due. I express my gratitude to the Honorable Lieutenant Governor for this decision.”

The people who got the jobs thanked the Central Government and the Lieutenant Governor and called it a big relief.
