Jaipur : Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari has directed the officials to expedite the process of providing milk three days a week to about 36 lakh children visiting 62 thousand Anganwadi centers in the state. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari gave these instructions in a meeting held at the Government Secretariat on Wednesday in the presence of Women and Child Development Administration Secretary Mahendra Soni, Director Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) OP Bunkar. It is noteworthy that in point number 88 of the revised budget for the financial year 2024-25, milk is to be provided to the children at Anganwadi centers three days a week as proper nutritious diet.
An annual amount of Rs 200 crore will be spent on the milk powder to be purchased. Additional Director Meghraj Singh Meena, Deputy Director ICDS Dr. Manju Yadav and other departmental officers were present in the meeting.
