Jodhpur : The government has started taking steps to control inflation after the budget, under this, to provide relief to the common people troubled by the rising prices of pulses across the country, steps have been taken to provide gram dal at subsidized rates at ration shops in the state under the Bharat Dal Yojana run by the central government. Bharat Dal Yojana will be started in the state by the Food and Civil Supplies Department with the aim of stabilizing the skyrocketing prices of pulses across the state and ensuring the availability of pulses to consumers at affordable prices and to increase the additional income of the ration shops of the state and to curb the prices of pulses through retailers in the open market.

On behalf of the government, allotment of gram dal will be obtained from the Government of India through the Food Department on the basis of demand by Rajasthan State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Limited, Jaipur. After this, gram dal miller cum transporter will be appointed by issuing e-tender or open tender. Gram will be lifted from the warehouses designated by the Central Government and after milling, it will be made available as per the demand through the corporation. It has been told that 1 kg packet of gram dal will be available to the general public at the rate of Rs. 60 per kg and 30 kg packet at the rate of Rs. 55 per kg in the ration shops.
The dealer will get the benefit
The announcement of providing dal packets by the state government has also brought happiness among the department’s authorized ration dealers in Jodhpur. They will get financial benefit from this sale in the form of commission per packet. At the same time, poor consumers will be able to eat cheap dal in the era of inflation. According to ration dealer Sampat Tak, this scheme is not mandatory, any dealer who is interested can apply to DSO.
Action should be taken to make it mandatory for the village service cooperative societies to be linked with the cheap pulses scheme so that poor villagers can get relief from inflation.

The state government has decided to implement the Centre’s Bharat Dal Yojana. For this, a list of willing ration dealers is being prepared, after which cheap pulses will be available through the Food Supply Corporation by next month.
