Jaipur : Now in Rajasthan, the registration number of the old vehicle scrapped at the authorized scrap center can be allotted to the new vehicle. In the revised budget announcement of the year 2024-25, it was announced that the facility of vehicle registration number retention would be provided on scrapping the vehicle.
Transport and Road Safety Commissioner Manisha Arora said that as per the budget announcement, now vehicle owners can retain their previously registered vehicle registration number on the newly purchased vehicle. The Transport and Road Safety Department has issued orders in this regard. She said that any applicant can apply on the V Scrap portal. After giving the vehicle to the authorized scrap center, a Certificate of Deposit will be given in the prescribed format on the portal. After scrapping, a Certificate of Vehicle Scrapping will be issued.
After this, the vehicle owner can apply to the concerned registration officer with the prescribed fee for registration number retention. The vehicle owner will get the information through SMS or Citizen Portal about the permission given on the portal to take the registration number of the scrapped vehicle on the new vehicle to be purchased.
