Good news for farmers, grain warehouse facility will be available at government level.

Chittorgarh : There is news of relief for the farmers who work hard to harvest crops in adverse weather. The reason is that the farmers of the district will get facilities for crop storage at the government level. Under the Sahakar Samriddhi Yojana, warehouses will be built in some Gram Seva Cooperative Societies under Chittorgarh Central Cooperative Bank for storage of grains. If everything goes well in each warehouse, the construction of government warehouses will start as soon as the approval is received from the Central Government. At present, due to lack of storage facilities for grains at the government level in the district, farmers have to sell their produce at throwaway prices. 6 warehouses will be built in the district under Sahakar Samriddhi Yojana.

Understand the benefits of farmers like this

Under the Central Government scheme, the estimated cost of each warehouse of 500 metric tonnes has been fixed at Rs 40 lakh. Rs 25 lakh will be given by the Central Government for the construction of the warehouse. Whereas Rs 15 lakh will have to be given to the cooperative society. After the construction of these warehouses, farmers will be able to protect their produce from rain and moisture. Its biggest advantage will be that the farmer will be able to sell his produce in the market when the price comes. This will benefit farmers and cooperative societies by controlling prices.

On an average, there is a bumper production of a crop during the last several years. Due to excess production, farmers face the problem of keeping their produce safe. Due to this, farmers are not able to get good prices. Many farmers are worried about this. Warehouses will be built in 6 village cooperative societies in the district. This will benefit the farmers and provide them the facility to store their crops.
