Jaipur : The state government reversed the decision of the Ashok Gehlot government in the matter of recovery of about Rs 100 crore from the employees who withdrew the money deposited in NPS. During the Gehlot government, these employees were warned that if the money withdrawn from NPS was not returned, then the benefit of OPS would not be given. The Finance Department issued an order on Friday and provided relief to these employees. The order said that the amount of the employees who have not returned the money will be adjusted at the time of retirement. The same interest as GPF will be charged from these employees.
500 crore rupees were withdrawn
It is noteworthy that after the implementation of OPS, about 90 thousand policemen and employees of the education department had withdrawn about Rs 500 crore from the NPS account, out of which about Rs 400 crore was also deposited back.
The government took back the old decision
Regarding recovery, the employees filed a petition in the High Court, challenging the government’s order of not giving OPS benefits if the money is not returned. The proposal on this was pending with the government, on which the government withdrew its earlier decision on Friday. It is noteworthy that about 120 petitions in this case are to be heard in the High Court on Monday.
