Jaipur : Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) can now be reorganized on the lines of Haryana PSC. After the role of RPSC came to light in the paper leak, Bhajanlal government is now preparing to reorganize it. At present, the number of members in RPSC will be increased like Haryana Public Service Commission. Last month, the government had asked Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani to study the Haryana Public Service Commission. Devnani has recommended doubling the number of members in RPSC in the report submitted to the CM. Apart from the chairman, there are currently 7 posts of members in the commission. That is, their number can be up to 14. The government will also change the method of appointment. For this, the process of Union Public Service Commission is also being studied.
Devnani has submitted its detailed report to the Chief Minister. It will soon be sent to the Law Department. The department will prepare a draft for amendment in the Rajasthan Public Service Commission Rules and Regulations 1963 and Rajasthan Public Service Commission Regulations and Procedure Verification Ordinance 1975 and Act 1976. It can be passed in the upcoming session of the Assembly.
Hooda government had made amendments in Haryana PSC
Seeing the way the role of former members of RPSC has come to light in the Sub Inspector recruitment exam in Rajasthan, now the pressure on the government has increased to reorganize it. In the year 2008, the Bhupendra Hooda government of Haryana had increased the number of members of Haryana Public Service Commission from 8 to 12. After this, in 2015, the Manohar Lal Khattar government again increased the number of members in the commission to 8. This also includes the post of chairman.
