Jaipur : Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department, Abhay Kumar said that by August 15, more than Rs 1100 crore will go into the accounts of Gram Panchayats. Additional Chief Secretary and Administrative Secretary of Panchayati Raj Department, Ravi Jain, along with the officials of Panchayati Raj, MNREGA, Finance, Public Works, Food, Civil Supplies and Home Department, discussed their demands in detail with the representatives of Sarpanch Sangh.
The honorarium of Sarpanchs should be increased by 20 thousand rupees
Apart from this, in the meeting, the Sarpanch Sangh demanded to increase the honorarium of Sarpanchs by Rs 20,000. Apart from the grant amount, the representatives have also demanded to increase the honorarium of the mates and artisans working in the MNREGA scheme. There is a demand to make the attendance of workers working in MNREGA offline instead of online, and to give the responsibility of operation and maintenance of schemes for water distribution in every house to the Water Supply Department.
Sarpanches demanded extension of tenure
Apart from this, Sarpanchs have demanded that the honorarium of skilled and unskilled workers should be increased and the tenure of Sarpanchs should be extended on Madhya Pradesh model, toll free passes should be given to Sarpanchs on highways, Panchayati Raj Welfare Fund Board should be formed, police force should be provided to Panchayats to remove encroachment. Additional Chief Secretary said that the state government is sensitive towards their demands and is committed towards the development of villages. Appropriate action will be taken on these demands.
