Nagaur : After the launch of Child Marriage Free India campaign by the Government of India, the campaign is going on in the entire country. Nagaur district administration is organizing rallies and swearing-in programs in collaboration with Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal. A one-day workshop for prevention of child marriage was held in Nagaur Mahila Police Station. Women Crime Research Cell’s Additional Superintendent of Police Noor Mohammad, SC ST Cell DSP Sitaram, Women Police Station Officer Samjida Bano, Mandal Center Incharge Bhinyaram Bhobia, Women’s Safety Sakhi Sapna Tank, workers of women’s organizations and policemen were present in the workshop.
ASP Noor Mohammad administered the oath against child marriage to the institutions and officials working in the field of child protection. While administering oath to the college students and staff for a child marriage free Nagaur, he informed about the Child Marriage Prohibition Act 2006. ASP Noor Mohammad said that child marriage is a sign of danger for children. At the time of marriage, it is very important for the bride and groom to be ready for that responsibility. Only then a healthy society is created. Female police station officer Samjida Qureshi said that women should come forward against this practice. Women will have to understand the pain of women.
District Coordinator of Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal, Garima Rathore said that a nationwide alliance of more than 250 NGOs working for the protection of child rights is working as a partner organization of ‘Just Rights for Children’. On the occasion of inauguration of ‘Child Marriage Free India’ campaign of Government of India at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal organized awareness rallies in Ajmer, Nagaur, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Didwana-Kuchaman districts and people Took oath against child marriage. Even today, more than 23 percent of girls in the country undergo child marriage, which has a negative impact on their girls’ education, health as well as employment and economic dependence. India can achieve the goal of eliminating child marriage even before 2030. Surendra, Hemlata and Mamta of the organization team cooperated in conducting various activities of the campaign.
