Grand display of Bihar Museum in Pragati Maidan, Delhi

New Delhi, November 15 (IANS). Bihar has been included as a partner state in the 43rd Indian International Trade Fair held at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. The rich history, culture and art of Bihar is being presented prominently in this fair. This time Bihar Museum has also been showcased as a special exhibition.

The fair attracts traders and tourists from across the country and abroad, and is an important occasion for Bihar, where the historical and cultural heritage of the state is being showcased.

Bihar Museum’s Additional Director Ashok Kumar Sinha told in a special conversation with IANS on Friday that this time the display of Bihar Museum has emerged as an important attraction in the trade fair. This fair is a great opportunity for Bihar. We have come here to show the development of Bihar and want to spread the culture, civilization, art and heritage of our state to the whole world. This time Bihar Museum has been specially displayed, which is the most unique museum in the country.

He said that Bihar Museum is not only famous for its historical and cultural heritage, but also has a unique way of construction. Designed by famous architects of Japan, this museum has been developed as per international standards. Bihar Museum is a wonderful place where people experience the historical heritage and cultural diversity of Bihar. Every day two to three thousand people come to see this museum. We wanted the people of Delhi to also experience the Bihar Museum, that is why we are displaying it here.

He said that one of the major exhibits showcasing the art and culture of Bihar in this year’s fair is the live painting demo of Padmashree awarded artists of Bihar. Many famous artists have been invited here to showcase the art of Mithila painting and Tikli painting, which have a special identity in the field of art in Bihar. Bihar has fifteen Padmashree awardees, nine of whom are in the field of Mithila painting alone. This is an important part of Indian art. Four Padmashree artists are displaying their art in this pavilion. Especially Ashok Biswas and Shanti Devi, who are well-known artists of Mithila painting and Tikli painting, are giving live demos here.

Apart from this, artists from other famous art forms of Bihar like Sikkim Art, Manjusa Art and Tikli Painting are also present in the pavilion with their products. Seeing the live demo of these artists, the people coming to the fair are expressing their interest towards the traditional art and culture of Bihar.
