Patna, December 3 (IANS). The All India Women’s River Rafting Expedition team was given a grand welcome at NIT Ghat of Ganga on reaching Patna on Tuesday. The journey of this team started from Dev Prayag on November 2. Their journey will end on reaching Ganga Sagar on 24th December.
Welcoming the All India Women’s River Rafting Expedition team, Patna ADM Ravindra Kumar Diwakar said that the journey started from Dev Prayag on November 2 and reached Patna on Tuesday. This journey of 2,500 kilometers has been completed 1,200 kilometers. There are 20 women in this team.
He said that this yatra has been started keeping the aim of women empowerment and clean water stream of Ganga. He will definitely get success in this journey. Everyone was welcomed by the Patna district administration team. Patna district administration wishes them a successful journey. The 20-member women rafting team is being led by Sub Inspector Priya Meena.
Nalin Kumar Srivastava, Deputy Director General of Namami Gange, said that this journey so far has been very good and very successful. This campaign was started on 2nd November and was flagged off on 4th November at Ganga Utsav Haridwar, since then this journey is going on continuously.
He said, “We are getting messages from everywhere that a very good message is being sent. This program is becoming a complete success. We hope that in future we will reach Ganga Sagar. The success of this entire campaign and Will complete the significance.”
Folk singer Neetu Navgeet, who came to welcome this team, said that the courage of the daughters is worth seeing. This is an excellent step towards women empowerment. He also gave the message of Ganga cleanliness by singing folk songs.
