Sawai Madhopur : Illegal gravel mining and transportation is going on openly in the Malarna Dungar subdivision area of the district. Late night, SDM Badrinarayan Vishnoi conducted a surprise inspection in the Banas river and found more than 150 tractor-trolleys mining. Seeing a large number of transportation on the spot, the SDM sought police assistance. But due to the non-arrival of the police, the illegal gravel mining mafia came in a bus with a force and also freed the seized tractor-trolleys. SDM Badrinarayan Vishnoi said that he reached the Banas river area at quarter to ten on Monday night. During this time, a large number of tractor-trolleys and trucks were found transporting illegal gravel. These vehicles were passing through Bhadauti while passing through Bhukha. Seeing illegal transportation, the SDM standing at the mouth of the Bhukha Banas river sought help from the police late at night. Also, during this time, he took some tractor-trolleys in his possession and waited for the police. But after waiting till around 11 o’clock in the night, police assistance was not received.
During this time, the mafia reached the mining area in a bus and freed the seized tractor-trolley. The police did not even impose a blockade. The SDM has also complained to the SP, accusing the police of not cooperating in stopping illegal gravel transportation. However, the police called the allegations baseless.
The allegation of not getting police assistance is baseless: SP
Sawai Madhopur Superintendent of Police Mamta Gupta said that the allegation of not getting police assistance is baseless. A contingent of 25 RAC jawans has been given to the Revenue Department against illegal gravel mining. Still, if needed, we provide police contingent to the Revenue Department for security. If SDM sahab had asked for more police contingent separately, we would have provided it to him.
The police officer said- SDM gave information, but did not send the location
Malarana Dungar’s Thanadhikari Radharaman Gupta said that SDM had given information but did not send the location. We went to the station area. There was information about illegal gravel transportation there too. SDM went alone without a contingent. This is beyond comprehension. He could have taken a police contingent along.
SDM said- if information was given then the truth would not have come out
Malarna Dungar’s subdivision officer Badrinarayan Vishnoi said that if the police had been informed in advance, the reality of illegal gravel transportation would not have come to light. He called the SHO and other senior officials. He gave instructions to block the road, but neither did the police come to the spot nor did they block the road. He has complained to the SP. He will write a letter to senior officials to investigate the role of the police personnel.
