Greenfield airport will be built in this district of Rajasthan at a cost of crores, read the news

Kota : A tripartite MoU was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister on Friday regarding the Greenfield Airport to be built in Kota. The cost of building the airport will be around Rs 1000 crore. Construction will start after six months. It will be ready in about two to two and a half years. Flights will start soon after this. A tripartite MoU was signed between the Airports Authority of India, Urban Development Department and Civil Aviation Department in the Chief Minister’s Office regarding the development of Kota Greenfield Airport. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the construction of Greenfield Airport in Kota, the city of education and industries, will provide air facilities to millions of residents of Hadoti region. He requested the Chairman of the Airports Authority of India to start work soon for the new state terminal at Jaipur Airport. Chairman of Airports Authority of India Sanjeev Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of Civil Aviation Department Shikhar Agarwal and Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department T. Ravikant signed the MoU.

State government will give free land

The Rajasthan government will provide land free of cost for the construction of Kota Greenfield Airport. The Airports Authority of India will have the complete responsibility of construction, development and operation of the Greenfield Airport. The Airports Authority of India has been given permission to survey the airport. Also, the necessary action has been taken to shift the 400 kV high tension line of PGCIL (Power Grid Corporation of India Limited) from the proposed land of the airport.
A Greenfield Airport will be built in Shambhupura in Bundi district, adjacent to Kota.

Kota airport will be made operational within two to two and a half years of commencement of construction work.
After the construction of Kota Greenfield Airport, Airbus A-320 aircraft will be able to land here. The capacity of Airbus A-320 is 150 to 200 passengers.
The length of the runway at Kota Green Field Airport will now be 3.5 km. Earlier this length was fixed at 2.8 km.
The Greenfield Airport is 15 km from Kota and 20 km from Bundi.

DPR is being prepared

Airports Authority of India Chairman Sanjeev Kumar said that a detailed project report (DPR) is being prepared for Kota Greenfield Airport. After this, tenders will be invited.
Principal Secretary of Urban Development Department T. Ravikant told through the presentation that Greenfield Airport will be constructed on 440.086 hectares of land. This land is located in revenue villages Tulsi, Kaithuda, Balapura and Deoria, District Bundi within the perimeter of Kota Development Authority. Out of this, 406.678 hectares of forest land and 33.408 hectares of non-forest land is owned by Kota Development Authority.
