Dungarpur : Cyber police station of Dungarpur district of Rajasthan has got a big success. The police have arrested a vicious fraudster who committed online fraud of lakhs in the name of trading in Grow Money Company. The accused had cheated a person from Dungarpur of Rs 8.50 lakh. The accused is being questioned by the police.
Online fraud worth lakhs in the name of trading
These cyber thugs used to cheat people online by posting links on Telegram app and luring them with 24 percent commission in the name of trading. During police interrogation, these people declared themselves to be residents of Alwar. Police caught them from Chittorgarh. The investigation so far has revealed that they have defrauded more than Rs 20 crores. Girdhari Singh, Station Officer, Cyber Police Station, Dungarpur district, said that the report was originally given by Dungarpur resident Umed Singh Prajapat. In which it was told that a link had come on his Telegram on 10th April. When he called on the number shown on it, Alwar resident Dharmendra Panchal talked to him.
Lost Rs 8 lakh 50 thousand due to greed
Dharmendra further told that from the other side he was asked to send a link to invest in Grow Money Company. They were also told that if they invested in the company, they would get 24 percent interest every month. Being lured by this, he transferred a total of Rs 8 lakh 50 thousand online on different dates. Later, when they did not receive any returns, they came to know of the fraud.
Detained from Chittorgarh
Based on the report of the victim, the cyber station police have registered a case and started investigation. During investigation it was revealed that accused Dharmendra Panchal was in Chittorgarh. On which the team of cyber police station reached Chittorgarh and took Dharmendra into custody and brought him to Dungarpur. When the police interrogated him, the accused confessed to his crime. On which the police arrested the accused Dharmendra. Now the police is interrogating the accused further, so that his other associates can also be caught in this case.
