Ajmer : Half the building of Ajmer Railway Station will be demolished and rebuilt. This work will be done under station major re-development. The cost of this work to be done in the first phase will be Rs 300 crore. After this the second phase of work will take place. The part from the retiring room to the booking office at the railway station will be broken from outside and inside. Its length is about 80 meters. This includes retiring room, waiting area, booking area and some old parts of the station.
DRM Alok Aggarwal and Senior DCM BCS Chaudhary had visited the railway station in this matter and also discussed about the concept plan of the engineers of the engineering department. After this it was decided that half the building work would be completed in the first phase. For this, permission has been sought from the Indian Railway Board. It is believed that after getting the permission, work on Ajmer station will start in the next three months. It is known that about 8 months ago, PM Modi had laid the online foundation stone of re-development work at Ajmer railway station along with other railway stations of the country. After this, former DRM Rajiv Dhankhar had sent some amendment plans in the DPR prepared. Since then this work had slowed down, now it has been given momentum again.
Will shift booking area to PRS
Railway officials said that at present there is a large part of the booking area where unreserved tickets are available. This part is also old. After being dismantled from here, it will be shifted to the reservation office. A yard of 7 lines will be built on the Daurai side. Traffic movement will be regulated. A three-storey building will be built. In this, along with various offices of the Railways, there will be other constructions. These works will be done. Platform sheds will be removed by demolishing half the building of the railway station. A new building will be constructed connecting all the platforms. Modern facilities will be provided under one roof at the station. The station will be expanded. Food plaza, shopping complex, multiplex, hotel, restaurant, game zone, waiting room, wash room etc. will be built. Reservation and inquiry offices will be created.
