Hanumangarh : senior doctors Dr. Paras Jain, Dr. Brijesh Gaur and Dr. SS Gate from the district participated in this conference. While talking to media persons on Tuesday after returning from the conference, Dr. Paras Jain said that there has been a revolutionary change in heart treatment and people’s attitude towards it. About 50-60 years ago, the only treatments for heart disease were giving oxygen, putting on drip etc. Gradually other drugs were invented. After this, blood thinning medicines etc. started being used. Then came the era of injections that dissolve blood clots. After this, even more progress was made. Then it was thought that the blood clot could be removed or the blockage that had occurred could be bypassed.
According to Dr. Jain, initially the facilities of angiography, angioplasty, bypass etc. were available in foreign countries. Then this technology came to India. Initially, patients of Hanumangarh used to go to Madras or other big cities to get heart operations done. Gradually these facilities started in Jaipur, Sriganganagar and other nearby districts. Nowadays there are good cardiologists in Hanumangarh also. All other facilities including angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker are available at the local level. Awareness among people has also increased due to assistance received from other schemes including Ayushman Bharat.
According to Dr. Jain, if we make people aware about prevention, then heart problems can be prevented to a great extent. Once it is known that a person has this heart disease, if intervention is done then more people can be saved. Intervention means performing angioplasty, bypass, or using other similar surgical facilities. Dr. Brijesh Gaur said that first of all we have to change our lifestyle. With this we can prevent heart diseases before time. If you are suffering from BP, obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol, then the diseases can be prevented in the initial stage by changing your lifestyle. Dr. SS Gate was also present in the press conference.
