Hanumangarh Government Polytechnic students took industrial tour

Hanumangarh : Students of Government Polytechnic in Hanumangarh visited the famous Ram Singh Foundry and Narendra Engineering Works Factory of the district on the occasion of Children’s Day on Thursday.

Training and Placement Officer Jaswant Kumawat said that this industrial visit was organized by the Institute Industry Cell for the first year students with the aim of making them aware of the technical information related to the Engineering Workshop Practice course. Through this visit, students learned about the sand-casting process and various machining operations.

On reaching the workshop, the students were welcomed by Charanjit Singh, Managing Director of Ramsingh Foundry. He gave detailed information about the products made at Ram Singh Foundry. Under his guidance the students observed the working of oil-furnace for making molten metal. He explained the process of melting the raw material and removing impurities from the molten metal with the help of flux.

After this, Technician Satnam showed the students how to make the mold with the help of molding sand and pattern. To understand the machining process done on casted products, the students visited the machines of Narendra Engineering Works. Narendra Singh, Managing Director of Narendra Engineering Works, gave information about the steps of pump and motor manufacturing work.
