Hanumangarh : On the 134th death anniversary of great social reformer and inspiration of education, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, a tribute meeting was organized by District Saini Samaj Samiti on Thursday. During this, the speakers paid tribute to the Phule couple by remembering their thoughts and their contribution towards social reform. District President of District Saini Samaj, Shivshankar Khadgawat said that Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and his wife Savitri Bai Phule made millions of people aware by lighting the lamp of education in the society. He not only tried to educate the backward and neglected sections of the society, but also paved the way for education for women and Dalits. Committee member Durgadutt Saini said that Phule’s life was dedicated to providing equal rights and respect to every section of the society.
He said that Mahatma Phule not only understood the importance of education, but also proved through his actions that education is the only way to end the evils prevailing in the society. Former District President Bharatendu Saini described the contribution of Mahatma Phule as a milestone in the history of social reform. He said that Phule made tireless efforts to make the weak and exploited section of the society aware. His efforts not only led to the spread of education, but also led to a widespread movement against caste discrimination and social inequality. During this, the speakers remembered Phule’s efforts for education, social justice and equality and pledged to work towards making the society aware.
