Hanumangarh Two smugglers arrested with heroin worth lakhs of rupees

Hanumangarh : Hanumangarh’s Junction Police Station, taking action with the help of DST, has arrested two smugglers including heroin. The police have carried out this action under the special campaign being run by SP Arshad Ali. Junction police has also seized the bike used in smuggling. More than Rs 28 thousand from the sale of heroin has also been recovered from both the arrested smugglers. The value of the seized heroin is said to be Rs 40 lakh in the international market. Further investigation in the case has been handed over to Sadar police station incharge Ajay Girdhar.

Junction City Police Officer Satpal Bishnoi said that SP Arshad Ali is running a zero tolerance campaign to arrest illegal drugs, due to which the police station has carried out an action under the NDPS Act with the help of DST.

Bishnoi told that SI Gajendra Sharma was patrolling the police station area. Meanwhile, based on the list of DST team, two bike riders were signaled to stop near Transport Nagar, when they saw the police team and started trying to run away. When the police caught and searched the two youths riding the bike, 100.58 grams of heroin was recovered from them. Rs 28,400 for the sale of heroin has also been recovered from both the youths.

Both the youths were identified as Sameer (22) son of Shyamlal Meghwal, resident of Ward 03, Jatiya Fazilka Police Station City Fazilka and Rahul (24) son of Chandraprakash Yadav, resident of Madhav Nagari Fazilka Police Station City Fazilka.
