Rajasthan : The sluggish monsoon in Rajasthan has once again become active. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in 30 districts of the state today. This alert has been issued from 19 to 22 July. During this period, a warning of heavy rain has been issued in Alwar and Dausa. At present, a low pressure area remains over the Bay of Bengal. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon trough line is passing through parts of southern Rajasthan. Due to the effect of this system, rain activities are likely to continue in some places of eastern Rajasthan for the next 4 days.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain till July 22 in Ajmer, Alwar, Banswara, Baran, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dausa, Dholpur, Dungarpur, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Kota, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar, Sirohi, Tonk, Udaipur, Bikaner, Churu, Hanumangarh, Jalore, Nagaur, Pali and Sri Ganganagar. On Thursday, there was movement of clouds in the sky throughout the day in the entire district including Jalore city and humidity and heat made people miserable. People were drenched in sweat amidst the heat. In the evening, the weather took a turn and the rain started. It rained with winds till around 10, which gave relief to the people from the heat.

The Meteorological Department has predicted an increase in rainfall activity in eastern Rajasthan on 20-21 July and heavy rains at some places in Kota and Udaipur divisions. Whereas, the Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms and lightning in Banswara and Dungarpur for the next three days and heavy rains on 22 July. Whereas there is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in Pratapgarh from 19 to 22 July.
