Heavy rain in Jaipur, water came in this dam for the first time

Jaipur : This time the monsoon is proving to be a monsoon of happiness for the dams in Jaipur. After the heavy rains of the last three days, seven dams including Kanota have overflowed and water is flowing over them. The special thing is that the Kalakh Sagar Dam located in Phulera which has a filling capacity of 26 feet has received water for the first time after 12 years. During the three days of rain, four feet of water has entered the dam. On the other hand, as the dams of the district are filled, people of the city have started reaching other dams including Kanota and are celebrating the Monsoon festival.

There are 32 dams in the district, now there is water in 18 dams

According to the officials of the Water Resources Department, there are 32 dams in Jaipur district. After heavy rains in the monsoon season, water has flowed in 18 dams. Officials of the Water Resources Department say that the monsoon will remain active throughout August and water will flow in the dams. In order to ensure that there is no obstruction in the flow of water into the dams, encroachments in the flow area have been removed at many places.

Fact File

Tourism Corporation officials had talked about promoting water tourism at Kanota and Nevta dams in Jaipur district a year ago. Under the plan, activities like high speed boating, house boat, chowpatty were planned to be started at these two dams but no work has been done in this direction till date at both the dams.
