Rajasthan : The rain that has been continuing for the last several days in Rajasthan has set a new record. According to the Meteorological Center Jaipur, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many areas of the state from 6 to 10 September. On Friday, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in 6 districts – Nagaur, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Tonk, Bundi and Dholpur.
Heavy inflow of water in Bisalpur dam
Due to continuous heavy rain in Bhilwara and Jaipur for the last few days, the water level of Bisalpur Dam has increased rapidly. On Thursday, the water level of Triveni river reached above 4 meters, due to which the inflow of water in the dam has also increased. The gates of the dam are likely to be opened today. This situation is further increasing the possibility of flood in the area.
Monsoon activities in eastern and western Rajasthan
In eastern Rajasthan, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of very heavy rain for the next 4-5 days. Heavy rain is expected especially in Banswara, Baran, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Kota, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sawai Madhopur, Sirohi, Udaipur and Jalore districts. A warning of heavy rain has also been issued in Karauli on Friday. At the same time, monsoon will also remain active in Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions of western Rajasthan. Rain activities are likely to decrease in Bikaner division from September 8 and in Jodhpur division from September 9.
13 year old record broken
This season has set a new record in the history of monsoon. From June 1 to September 5, Rajasthan has received an average of 607.5 mm of rain, which is the highest in the last 13 years. From 2011 to 2023, the average rainfall was 435.6 mm.
Flood situation and caution
A young man has died due to the collapse of a house due to heavy rain in Sawai Madhopur and a flood situation has arisen in Bundi. The Meteorological Department has warned that there is little possibility of improvement in the rain situation in the coming days, due to which the problems of flood and waterlogging may persist. In these circumstances, the local administration needs to be alert and make people aware of safety measures.
