Jaipur : Rajasthan’s heavy rains have begun. The situation has started deteriorating due to heavy rains in Jodhpur and Udaipur for the last two days. Jodhpur-Jaisalmer railway track has also been damaged due to heavy rains. Two trains have been cancelled here since this morning and one train has been stopped on the way. At the same time, water is flowing like rivers in Jodhpur city. Here, there is a long jam on Udaipur-Ahmedabad National Highway since Wednesday morning. Due to waterlogging at many places, there is a kilometer long line of vehicles. Due to continuous rain for three days, the gates of big dams have been opened in Banswara, Dungarpur, Dholpur, Chittorgarh and Udaipur. At the same time, Chakal river is also in spate due to heavy rains in Tonk. On Tuesday, a young man got stuck with his bike on the river culvert. The young man was rescued after about 11 hours on Wednesday morning. Even today, there is a rain alert in 31 districts of the state. Meteorological Center Jaipur has expressed the possibility of monsoon remaining active in Rajasthan till September 7.
Dam overflows, water is being released continuously
Due to the monsoon becoming active again, water is being released from the gates of Swaroop Sagar and Udai Sagar Dam in Udaipur. At the same time, Mahi Bajaj Dam in Banswara is also full. Water is being drained here since Tuesday. The water level in the dam is being reduced by opening 2 gates of Parvat Dam in Dholpur. Gambhiri Dam of Chittorgarh is also full. Apart from this, the water level of rivers is also continuously increasing in many districts including Tonk, Bundi.
Trains affected, National Highway closed
Jodhpur Divisional Railway Manager Pankaj Kumar Singh said that there is excessive waterlogging between Osian and Tinwari railway stations. Ranikhet Express has been stopped at Osian. The route of Jaisalmer-Kathgodam Express has been changed. Now this train will go to Kathgodam via Phalodi, Bikaner, Ratangarh, and Churu on the changed route today. Apart from this, Sabarmati Express and Runicha Special trains will also be affected. At the same time, due to heavy rains in Udaipur, there is a kilometer long jam on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad National Highway since 7 am. Water has filled at many places on the highway.
