But due to less rainfall than expected, the local residents were feeling some deficiency. But due to good rainfall in all the areas of the district in the last 4 days, the rivers and streams are overflowing and the water level in the reservoirs is continuously increasing.
The ponds used to overflow in this season
Let us tell you that there are a total of 5 big ponds in Jhalawar city which are usually overflowing at this time. Local people enjoy the view after these ponds overflow during rains. But this time all the five ponds in Jhalawar city are still empty. The water level of all is almost half. In such a situation, the people here were feeling very disappointed, but in the last 24 hours the water level of all the ponds has also increased continuously.
Many areas were submerged
Jhalawar district has been receiving continuous good rainfall in the last 24 hours. Bakani in Jhalawar recorded 96 mm rainfall in the last 12 hours, Raipur 108 mm and Gangadhar 94 mm. While Jhalawar city has received 46 mm rainfall in the last 12 hours. Due to continuous rain, Kadodia village in Sunel area of Jhalawar district has been flooded. Apart from this, the gates of Kalisindh dam are open, due to which the administration has issued an alert in the lower areas. About a dozen villages have lost contact with Jhalawar headquarters. Half of a culvert in Bakani has collapsed due to heavy rains. Apart from this, many dams in the district have become full, from which water is being continuously drained. A warning has been issued to the people living near the rivers in the entire district. They should be cautious and immediately move away from the banks of the rivers if the water level rises.
It rains more than the average here
Dag, Bhawani Mandi, Pidaawa, Khanpur and Manohar police station areas of Jhalawar district receive a lot of rain. The average rainfall in Jhalawar district is considered to be 800 mm. But the rainfall in the district goes up to 1200 to 1500 mm every year. In such a situation, the rainfall in Dag, Bhawani Mandi and Pidaawa areas sometimes reaches 1500 to 2000 mm.
