Heavy rain in the capital, holiday declared in government and non-government schools

Jaipur : The rain in Jaipur in the last 24 hours has affected the life of the people of the city. The rain started from 12 o’clock on Wednesday night and continued intermittently till late Thursday night. In the last 24 hours till 5 o’clock on Thursday evening, Jaipur received 230 mm of rain. Earlier in 1981, there was 326 mm of rain, during which the city was flooded. But today due to the failure of the system, flood-like conditions arose in the city. Water entered the vehicles on the main roads. The colonies in the outskirts were submerged. The roads caved in, in which vehicles got stuck. People remained imprisoned in their homes. The supply of vegetables, milk, newspapers and other essential goods coming to the colonies in the morning stopped. People missed buses, trains and flights. According to the Meteorological Center, the period of heavy rain in Jaipur will continue till August 5.

In view of heavy rains in Jaipur city, as per the instructions of the District Collector, holiday has been declared on Friday, 2nd August in all government and non-government schools of Jaipur city from class 1 to 12. All the institution heads will ensure compliance of the order.

Bhankrota: Bike rider fell into an open drain, causing traffic jam on the highway
There was a jam on the Jaipur Ajmer highway. The road from Kamla Nehru Nagar to Bhankrota crossing was flooded with water. Due to this, there were long queues of vehicles till noon. The movement of vehicles took place through the populated areas near the highway, Narayan Vihar, JDA Colony, Gangasagar Colony.
Jagatpura culvert: Competition to remove vehicles amidst waterlogging
The public faced a lot of problems due to waterlogging in Jagatpura, Agra Road, Malviya Nagar after heavy rains since early morning. There was a complete jam on the 1.5 km stretch from Jagatpura railway gate to Apex Circle. Earlier, people were seen risking their lives by driving their vehicles in 10 to 15 feet of water under the culvert.
Parkota:: Water entered the houses
Water flowed like a river in many areas of the fort. As soon as we came out of the garden of Mangodi people of Brahmapuri, the situation looked very bad. Rainwater had entered many houses. After the rain stopped, household waste was seen spread on the roads. The potholes on the roads at Subhash Chowk Circle were not visible. In such a situation, a child narrowly escaped falling from a bicycle.
Jhotwara: Water everywhere
Due to lack of proper drainage system on Jhotwara’s Khatipura Road, the roads were filled with rainwater on Thursday. There was a bad situation due to traffic jam on the road. At the same time, due to rainwater on Hasanpura Road, dirt was also seen on the road.
More than 40 places are blocked, major underpasses are also filled with water
Once again, heavy rains in the capital disrupted the traffic system from Thursday morning to afternoon. Due to waterlogging at many places including the major underground routes of the city (Malviya Nagar Nandpuri and Sahakar Marg), people had to take a long detour. JP Phatak and Sahakar Marg underpasses were filled with water. JDA installed mud pumps to drain out the water. On the instructions of Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph, traffic policemen were called on duty at 5 am for smooth traffic system in the city and the team of Nirbhaya Squad and all police stations were deployed to help them. Policemen said that for the first time they saw so much water filled on Gopalpura bypass, Mahesh Nagar 80 feet road, Sikar Road No. 14 culvert, the road going from Apex Circle to Jagatpura culvert in Malviya Nagar, Tonk Road near Kamal & Company.
