Rajasthan : Heavy rain is being seen in Rajasthan due to monsoon. Jaipur tehsil has received the highest rainfall of 98 mm in eastern Rajasthan. While 23mm of rain has been recorded in Nava, Nagaur of western Rajasthan. On Thursday (July 4) also, there is a possibility of intermittent moderate to heavy rain in Jaipur and surrounding areas. Rain activities are likely to continue in many parts of eastern Rajasthan for the next two-three days. For this, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert. On the other hand, the state’s Local Bodies Department (DLB) has alerted all the officials. DLB Director Suresh Kumar Ola told all the officials that all the officers should be alert for heavy rain in the next 72 hours. Also, be prepared in alert mode. He has also issued important instructions to the officials.

From cleaning drains to identifying old buildings
Suresh Kumar Ola said, it is imperative to closely monitor weather forecasts and activate emergency services. He said that proper deployment of staff and resources should be done around the drains. Officials have been instructed to ensure that drains are kept clean to prevent waterlogging and reduce the risk of flooding in urban areas. Also, officials should conduct a thorough survey to identify very old buildings in urban local bodies. The aim of this initiative is to assess structural stability and take necessary precautions to avoid potential hazards during adverse weather.
Apart from this, Ola said that maintaining the availability of torches, mud pumps, emergency equipment should be our priority. He instructed that adequate provisions of essential resources should be carefully planned and made readily available.
