Heavy rains in Rajasthan, 1 gate of Kota Barrage and 3 gates of Kalisindh Dam opened

Jaipur : Heavy rains are continuing in many districts of Rajasthan. Due to rain in Hadoti region, water is flowing into the dams. On Sunday also, sometimes drizzling and sometimes heavy rains continued throughout the day. Due to the inflow of water in Chambal river, 1260 cusecs of water is being discharged by opening one gate of Kota Barrage. On Saturday, six gates of Kota Barrage were open, while 22 thousand cusecs of water is being discharged by opening 3 gates of Kalisindh Dam in Jhalawar district. Water is flowing into Chambal, Kalisindh and Parvati rivers in Etawah area of ​​Kota district. Here, due to the rise in the tributary rivers, 2 feet of water came into Rana Pratap Sagar Dam in the last 24 hours. The water level of the dam increased from 1142.75 feet to 1144.51 feet.

At 6 pm on Sunday, the inflow of water in the dam was 5 thousand 34 cusecs. Due to heavy rains in the catchment area of ​​Gandhi Sagar, the biggest dam of Chambal river, 69 thousand 297 cusecs of water is arriving. Early Sunday morning, this inflow was more than one lakh cusecs. The flood in the Brahmani river stopped. Power generation is continuing from Jawahar Sagar Hydro Power House. 7 thousand 973 cusecs of water is being drained out through power generation. 1260 cusecs of water is being drained out from one gate of Kota Barrage on Sunday evening.

How much rain in which dam

76.80 mm rainfall was recorded in the catchment area of ​​Gandhi Sagar Dam. So far 384.80 mm rainfall has occurred.
88.80 mm rainfall was recorded in the catchment area of ​​Rana Pratap Sagar Dam, 530 mm rainfall has occurred so far.
Jawahar Sagar catchment area received 129.20 mm rainfall. So far, 455.80 mm rainfall has occurred here.

Roads are blocked, traffic jams are everywhere

Khatauli-Sawaimadhopur road remained closed on Sunday also due to about five feet of water on the culvert of Balaji Chambal river of Jharer near Kaithuda village of Etawah region. Due to this, the connectivity of Kota-Sawaimadhopur districts remained cut off. Due to this, people going from Khatauli to Sawaimadhopur had to go to Sawaimadhopur via Sheopur. Traffic started on Kota-Gwalior-Sheopur road after the water receded on the culvert of Parvati river in Khatauli after 2 pm on Sunday. At the same time, National Highway-52 remained blocked for 14 hours continuously on the culvert of Dara due to water coming from the forest of Mukundra. The road could be completely restored at 2 pm after the water receded. Due to the blockage of the road, there was a long queue of vehicles on Kota-Jhalawar road.

Monsoon is likely to remain active in most parts of eastern Rajasthan and rain activities are likely to continue for the next 5-7 days. During this period, heavy rains are likely at some places in Kota, Udaipur and Ajmer divisions. Rains are likely in some parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner divisions of western Rajasthan in the coming days. During 29-31 July, rain activities are likely to increase and there is a possibility of moderate and heavy rains at some places.
