Hemant cabinet expansion today, ministers will be sworn in at Raj Bhavan

Ranchi, 5 December (IANS). The swearing-in ceremony will be held on Thursday at Raj Bhavan for cabinet expansion in Jharkhand. Hemant Soren took oath as Chief Minister on 28 November itself.

On December 4, the cabinet expansion program of Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand was officially announced. In the information issued by Raj Bhavan, it was said that the swearing in of ministers will take place on December 5 at 12 noon in the Ashok Udyan of Raj Bhavan. In the same ceremony, Stephen Marandi, who has been made the protem speaker of the assembly, will also be sworn in.

The names of the MLAs who are to be sworn in as ministers have not been disclosed yet. The alliance has already agreed on the formula of making six MLAs from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, four from Congress and one from Rashtriya Janata Dal as ministers in the cabinet.

Godda MLA Sanjay Yadav from Rashtriya Janata Dal is considered certain to become a minister. This information has come to light quoting sources. Earlier, the name of Deoghar MLA Suresh Paswan is also in the headlines, but now he can be made the leader of the party legislature party.

Sources said that Dr. Rameshwar Oraon, who was a minister from Congress quota in the previous government of Hemant Soren, will be given the responsibility of the leader of the legislature party this time and in his place one of Kolebira MLA Naman Viksal Kongadi and Khijri MLA Rajesh Kachhap will be given the responsibility. Will get a berth in the cabinet.

A total of five women MLAs have won from Congress. It is considered certain that one of them will become a minister and in this race, the name of Mahagama MLA Deepika Pandey Singh is at the top. Apart from these, any two names of Congress MLAs, Irfan Ansari of Jamtara, Pradeep Yadav of Podaiyahat, Jaimangal Singh alias Anoop Singh of Bermo and Radhakrishna Kishore, who won from Chhatarpur seat reserved for Scheduled Caste, can be a part of the cabinet.

From Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Deepak Birua of Chaibasa, Ramdas Soren of Ghatshila, Hafijul Hasan of Madhupur, Anant Pratap Dev of Bhavnathpur, Dr. Lewis Marandi of Jama and Tundi MLA Mathura Mahato are likely to be made ministers. However, the names of Ichagarh MLA Savita Mahato and Rajmahal MLA MT Raja are also being discussed.

If there is agreement on electing Protem Speaker Stephen Marandi as the Speaker, then former Assembly Speaker Rabindranath Mahato can become a part of the cabinet. JMM’s central general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya has said that the coordination of experience and youth energy will be visible in the cabinet.
