Hemant government should remove irregularities in ‘Maiyan Yojana’ and old age-widow pension: Babulal Marandi

Ranchi, December 4 (IANS). Jharkhand State BJP President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi has alleged irregularities at many levels in ‘Maiyan Samman Yojana’ and old age and widow pension and has demanded the Hemant Soren government of the state to take necessary steps to correct them.

Marandi said that he has been communicating with the villagers during a public relations campaign in various villages of Dhanwar assembly constituency for the last two days. Many women from Koradih, Jagdishpur and more than a dozen other villages of Dhanwar block shared their problems. The women told that they are deprived of the benefits of Mainiyan Samman Yojana. The forms of many eligible women have not been filled, due to which they have not been able to get any benefit of the scheme. Gross carelessness is also being taken in paying the amount to the women selected for ‘Maiyan Yojana’.

While sharing the video of the elderly people of Thanasinghdih Panchayat of Third Block under Giridih district, the BJP leader said, after the launch of ‘Maiyan Yojana’, old age pension and widow pension have been stopped. Due to the stoppage of pension of old people for the last three months, they are now feeling helpless. This pension was the only source of food, medicine and other essential expenses. Such people are now facing uncertainty and economic crisis.

State President of BJP has requested Chief Minister Hemant Soren to organize special camps in other areas of the state including Dhanwar assembly constituency and fill the forms of all the women deprived of Mainiyan Samman Yojana and to provide them the payment of the scheme on time.

Along with this, updated payment of pending pension and distribution of ration should be ensured so that women do not have to worry about their basic needs. Marandi has told Hemant Soren that wherever you need our help or the support of BJP workers in this work, we will all be present.
