Ranchi, November 25 (IANS). The swearing-in ceremony of Hemant Soren as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand will be held on November 28 at Morhabadi Ground in Ranchi. The ceremony will be held at 11.30 am. Along with the Chief Minister, some other ministers can also take oath.
Hemant Soren was formally elected as their leader by the India Block MLAs on Sunday. After this, he staked claim to form the government before Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, which was accepted by him.
According to official sources, to attend the function are Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, RJD supremo Lalu Yadav, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Tejashwi Yadav, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, CPIML Invitations are being sent to the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Punjab, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir along with National General Secretary of AIIMS Dipankar Bhattacharya.
Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony have begun in full swing. On Monday, many officials including the Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi took stock of the preparations for the function to be held at Morhabadi ground. He informed the officials about the vehicles, catering arrangements for the guests coming to the function, accommodation facilities for the guests coming from other states during the function and their traditional welcome, parking, traffic, movement of VIP vehicles and other facilities. Gave necessary instructions.
Hemant Soren will be the first leader to take oath as Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the fourth time. He took oath as CM for the first time on July 13, 2013 in the government formed with the cooperation of JMM, Congress and RJD alliance. The tenure of this government was till 23 December 2014.
He took oath for the second time on 29 December 2019. He had to resign from the post of CM after he was arrested by ED on 31 January 2024. After coming out on bail, he took oath as CM for the third time on July 4, 2024. Before Hemant Soren, his father Shibu Soren and BJP’s Arjun Munda had taken oath as CM thrice each.
The alliance has secured 56 seats in the 81-member assembly elections in Jharkhand. JMM has won 34 seats, Congress 16, RJD four and CPI ML two seats. For the first time, a government is going to be formed in the state with two-third majority.
